STRESS MANAGEMENT

Stress has been described as a condition or feeling experienced when a person perceives that demands exceed the personal and social resources the individual is able to mobilise (Richard S Lazarus PhD - University of California, Berkeley).

Stress Management, then, becomes the treatment of stress utilising a wide variety of techniques and strategies, all designed to re-educate the individual into coping far more efficiently on a physical, emotional and behavioural level with what have previously been perceived as stressful situations.
