As a university lecturer in business studies for fifteen years, I became interested in psychology by teaching the application of theorists in psychanalysis and behaviourism from a marketing a business perspective. This inspired me to study psychology where I discovered the wonderful healing powers of hypnotherapy, going on to become a clinical hypnotherapist, counsellor and psychotherapist. I continue to work part-time as a senior lecturer and programme leader at the University of Greenwich teaching the psychology of consumer behaviour and marketing strategy.
In a fascinating career spanning nine years, I have had the personal satisfaction of helping many clients from all walks of life overcome their deepest, darkest fears and challenges. It is incredibly rewarding to see the changes and improvements in their daily lives.
I have a specialist interest in the treatment of addiction, particularly for alcohol and drug dependence and am a qualified Alcohol Control Therapist, with experience in extended family coping mechanisms for those with dependents within the family unit.
Having successfully treated many clients suffering with anxiety, stress (which underpins many presenting issues related to a wide variety of causes including OCD and addiction), as well as the ultimate manifestation of depression, the tailored combination of counselling and hypnotherapy is a successful solution for many. I also include younger people as I have helped many students to overcome the stress and anxiety of the challenges and expectations they face.
Another area of focus for my private practice is that of weight management and I have spoken at conferences on the causes for and treatment for obesity, discussing the merits of hypnotherapy and counselling in rebuilding self-belief and confidence by dealing with the historic psychological and emotional issues and developing the changes needed for wellbeing. Maintenance over an agreed period of time links in as a support for those already working on a slimming programme.

I hold an MA from the University of Greenwich and am currently reading and researching for a PhD into the cause and effect of stress and anxiety experienced by academics in the campus environment.
I hold a Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Counselling with distinction awarded by the Hypnotherapy Society, as well as an Advanced Diploma in Counselling and psychotherapy awarded by the National Counselling Society, both institutions of which I am a member. I am a registered Hatha Yoga teacher with the British School of Yoga and an advocate of yoga and meditation in the treatment of anxiety, stress and depression. I hold a Certificate in Supervisory Skills through Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists Institution.
I have attended many workshops and courses over the nine years in practice, significantly at the London College of Clinical Hypnotherapy masterclasses on Regression Hypnotherapy, Smoking Cessation; The National Counselling Society : Treating Anxiety : The Fear within; The National Hypnotherapy Society : Learning Self-Acceptance; NScience : Body and Spirit in Contemporary Psychotherapy and Counselling; Academy of Integrated Health and Medicine conference in San Diego, USA; Confer workshop on Gut-Brain, Heart-Brain; A Guide to the 12 Steps Fellowships for Psychotherapists; Post-Traumatic Growth; Anti-Ageing Foundation in India : stem cell medical conference.
I am also an experienced speaker on addiction, personal development and spirituality having delivered several talks for the Global Women Economic Forum in Delhi, India and in London as a member of the All Ladies League. I am a member of the Executive Board for Anti-Ageing Foundation Women Wellness Forum, Delhi, India and spoken on obesity at the Women Wellness Forum 2017 and the recent medical conference in May 2018. I am Chair of ‘The Therapy Group’ which is a peer group of hypnotherapists from the London, Surrey and South Eastern region that meets on a monthly basis to share best practice.

Fee per session is £70.00
I offer a free half hour consultation for those who are unsure about the benefits of counselling and hypnotherapy for their presenting issues in order to ensure they are able to make an informed decision to proceed and we can mutually determine whether this is the right course of treatment.

My hours are flexible and I normally request whether a day or evening appointment would suit the lifestyle of the client and make appointments accordingly. In many cases individuals work fulltime and evening appointments are preferable. The last appointment is 7.30 pm. I do also see clients on a Saturday.

My treatment room is at my home in a privately situated conservatory in a peaceful and tranquil environment overlooking a manicured garden.
If necessary I will visit clients in their home, particularly where a client in unable to travel, which would incur a fee.
I normally allow one and half hours for an initial consultation allowing for the exploration of salient issues, with subsequent consultations of one hour duration.
If it is appropriate I will conduct counselling sessions on the phone, but do not offer hypnotherapy remotely or provide CDs.
