Advanced Training Courses / Advanced Practitioner Status
For those seeking Advanced Practitioner status within the GHR, and who have been in practice for a minimum of 2 years, we offer the following information:
The GHSC has a framework for training providers who wish to have a course accredited at Advanced Practitioner level, a copy of which is available on request to admin@general-hypnotherapy-register.com . We understand that you would be enquiring as a practitioner rather than a trainer, of course, and would advise you accordingly:
Option 1: Whereas the framework is relatively specific in regard to the GHSC’s expectation of advanced level content, it is adherence to the spirit of the material (rather than necessarily to the letter) that is required. We also accept that it would be far too limiting on practitioners to restrict GHR acknowledgement of Advanced Practitioner status to only those who had completed such a course and it is therefore open to any Practitioner to set out a case on their own behalf. In this regard, you would need to provide an overview of your training and qualifications to date and to supplement this with an explanation of how you feel that your collective training might either meet the spirit of the attached framework or be judged as a legitimate alternative to it.

N.B. Attendance at CPD events would not necessarily count towards the above requirement as such relatively short undertakings are an expected part of a practitioner’s on-going professional life.
