Advice on Continuing to Work Safely beyond Monday 19th July 2021
The UK Government has recently published its ‘Moving to Step 4 of the roadmap’ document. This sets out the essential actions that everybody should take to protect themselves and others during the ongoing virus crisis. See COVID-19 Response: Summer 2021 – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
Whereas most legal restrictions are being lifted, infection rates remain high and the UK Government states that it is important to take measures to keep yourself and others safe and to remain cautious. See Coronavirus: How to stay safe and help prevent the spread from 19 July.
Although Hypnotherapy is not particularly designated as a ‘close contact service’, there are nonetheless aspects of the work that would fall under this description (e.g. tactile techniques during client sessions; certain student instruction during training etc,) it is therefore worthwhile to bring your attention to the Government guidance for close contact services that apply from 19 July ‘21. See Shops, branches, and close contact services – Working safely during coronavirus (COVID-19): guidance from Step 4 – Guidance – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
With respect to the wearing of facemasks, although it is no longer obligatory, you may nonetheless prefer to maintain this precaution wherever it is practical. (N.B. Personal attendance clients and students in training should always be allowed the opportunity to do so should that be their preference).
