Bulletin: September 2021
The European Congress for Integrative Medicine 2021 will now take place Online
The GHR & GHSC are working with the European Congress for Integrative Medicine (ECIM) to promote its essential task in bringing together medical practitioners, healthcare professionals, scientists, researchers, therapists and health politicians from around the world.
As supporters of the Congress, our Registrants are being offered discounted places at the event which is now scheduled for the 4th to 7th November.
The Congress has been taking place at various European cities since 2008 and as confirmed within previous GHR E-News bulletins, at this forthcoming event the ECIM Committee of experts were pleased to include GHR Practitioners, GHSC Affiliated Training Providers and Students in training within an invitation to submit abstracts for consideration for presentation.
The ECIM states the following:
“This long-awaited congress will enable like-minded individuals to come together to celebrate the contribution that integrative medicine has on healthcare and to rigorously discuss the strong evidence and research that is helping to take this movement forward.
It was hoped the 13th congress would have taken place for the first time in the United Kingdom, however with the continued uncertainty and travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the organisers have taken the difficult decision to hold the Congress online.
With more than 540 abstracts submitted for the call for abstracts and a fantastic line up of keynote speakers, the congress is brimming with the latest in Integrative Medicine. The aim is to bring together organisations and experts from multi-disciplines who share the same vision for a more holistic, patient-centred approach to healthcare and who recognise that real change occurs when people and organisations start working together. The advantage of holding the congress online is the ability to welcome speakers and delegates from across the globe.
Over the four days, the congress will feature senior level keynote speakers and a large number of oral presentations and posters presenting evidence-informed papers on the latest research and clinical applications of Integrative Medicine alongside an international exhibition of associations and companies providing integrative healthcare solutions.
With more than 125+ global Integrative Medicine Researchers and Clinicians hosting LIVE presentations and Q&As, running in three parallel sessions over four intensive days, this is a conference not to be missed!
In addition to the LIVE ONLINE conference programme, there is a full detailed poster programme. You will have the opportunity to connect with researchers and clinicians to learn about their research in the online interactive poster sessions.
Your conference registration pass provides you with access to the conference programme plus the poster programme. The conference and poster programmes feature presentations within the fields of Antimicrobial Resistance, Covid Research, Nutrition, Gut Health & Microbiome, Pain Management, Mental Health & Stress Management, Immunology, Patient Activation & Self-Management, Social Prescribing, Traditional Health and much more.”

GHR Registered Hypnotherapists Sought for a Research Study –
‘How do hypnotherapists experience and use intuition in their work?’
Teija Barr is a doctoral student at the University of West London, conducting research on hypnosis. She has been registered with the GHR for over 10 years and currently holds both Senior and Advanced Practitioner statuses. She states:
“My research doctorate studies how hypnotherapists use intuition in their work. The study is relatively small and seeks approximately 20 hypnotherapists who will be invited to participate in an interview. Due to the pandemic, this will take place via zoom. I will be asking questions about hypnotherapists’ experiences of intuition in their work.
The aim of the study is to help to understand the purposes of intuition in hypnotherapy work and the benefits of intuition as part of the therapeutic process.
The research has received ethical approval from the University of West London.
As a qualified hypnotherapist, you are being invited to share your views and opinions about how you perceive the experiences of intuition in your work. Does it have a purpose in therapy; when do you experience intuitive insight; what helps and what hinders intuitive insight? This study will involve an interview via zoom.
