GHR

Levels of Registration

Affiliate Status

Registration at Affiliate status is available to anyone (always subject to appropriate checks by the GHR) who has successfully completed a course of training that meets the GHSC minimum requirements for Foundation Level tuition. However, in line with the GHR policy of promoting safe practice and encouraging ongoing development within the field, Affiliate status registrants do not feature on this website and all therapists currently holding this grade are required to meet the criteria for Practitioner Level status before they may be included.

Registered Practitioner

Registration at Practitioner status is available to anyone (always subject to appropriate checks by the GHR) who has successfully completed a course of training that meets the nationally agreed Training Standards and who agrees to abide by the GHR Code of Ethics and to maintain appropriate levels of continuing professional development and supervision. Although the GHSC maintains a list of its own Affiliated Training Providers who all offer training courses accredited at Practitioner Level, registration with the GHR is not restricted to applicants from these courses. Registration is available to any suitably qualified practitioner and advice on eligibility may be obtained from our HQ on request at admin@general-hypnotherapy-register.com

Since the 1st August 2003, the GHSC has been awarding the General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP) to suitably qualified practitioners. This award is available to any hypnotherapist who can meet the above criteria for Practitioner level registration within the GHR. (N.B. Whilst there is no additional cost beyond the annual registration fee to GHR registered practitioners, applications for the award from those who do not require registration with the GHR are subject to an initial assessment fee and a reduced annual assessment fee thereafter. Full details on how to apply if you are not seeking GHR registration may be obtained from our HQ on request at admin@general-hypnotherapy-register.com)

Senior Practitioner

Registration at Senior Practitioner status is available exclusively to any GHR practitioner who has been in continual practice for a minimum of 5 years and has maintained a minimum average client workload of 25 hours per month throughout that period. The GHSC award of Senior Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (SQHP) accompanies this status and attracts no additional cost beyond the annual registration fee.

Advanced Practitioner

Registration at Advanced Practitioner status confirms that a therapist has undertaken a course of instruction beyond the normal Practitioner Level and which is acknowledged by the GHSC to have been at the appropriate advanced level of tuition. Such practitioners are entitled to utilise the letters ADPR. Full information on what constitutes GHSC acknowledged advanced level training is available on request from our HQ at admin@general-hypnotherapy-register.com
